Former 80's RCA Recording Artist Tané Cain sings lead in this 90's pop-dance group that
toured the dance circuit in the mid-90's opening for artists such as Jermain Jackson and
many others!
Singer, songwriter Tané McClure aka Tané Cain recorded many songs during the 80's and
90's, from rock to pop to dance music. During that time, Tané performed on many
television shows such as "Solid Gold" and "MTV"as well as live concert performances
opening for and touring with such noted artists as Linda Rondstat, Jefferson Starship with
Grace Slick, Eddy Money and many others. Tané can also be heard on three tracks in the
music soundtrack for the hit film the "Terminator" starring Arnold Shwartzenneger.
Tané McClure can be seen more recently in major motion pictures such as "Legally
Blonde" as well as starring in the CMT nominated music video by Toby Keith "You

Tané McClure had the privilege of using her singing talents again recently with the MGM
Stage production of "Mermaids" which is a musical based on the MGM film by the same
name. Tane played the role of Mrs. Flax, which was played by Cher in the film. Tane
received rave reviews on her acting and singing...

REVIEW: TANE CAIN (AKA TANE MCCLURE)
Comparable to Pat Benatar, Tané Cain is an expressive pop-rock vocalist who should have
hit big in the 1980s but never enjoyed the commercial success she deserved. Those who
heard Cain in the 1980s compared her to Benatar more than anyone, although she denied
sounding anything like Benatar and insisted that her main influence was Grace Slick. The
singer was born and raised in Hawaii, where she sang with a Latin jazz band called Sweet
Honesty for a few years before moving to San Francisco in the late 1970s. It was in the Bay
Area that she met and married Jonathan Cain, who played keyboards with the Babys from
1976-1981 and joined Journey in 1981. Tané Cain moved to L.A. with him, and she was 24
when, in 1982, she signed with RCA and recorded her self-titled debut album, which her
husband produced with Keith Olsen and did a lot of writing for. Two singles were released,
"Danger Zone" and "Holdin' On," and the LP had the makings of an AOR smash. But
surprisingly, Tané Cain didn't sell. The singer was dropped by RCA and never recorded a
second solo album, although she continued to play the L.A. club scene into the 1990s. ~
